Pumpkin Deaths a Mystery

On Nov 13 2008 about 3:30 pm I was taking photographs when I saw something very curious half buried in the sand on the beach. dsc01640-400

I was horrified at what I had stumbled upon, It was a Jack-O-Lantern, dead, with its face completely gone, or devoured.

What horrible fate had befallen my Halloween loving neighbour. Then in the corner of my eye I saw another sad and grisly sight.

As if screaming out in agony to its loved one, another faceless Jack-O-Lantern lie in the sand.

Who or what could have done these horrble things to these two Halloween loving souls. And why were their faces gone? I remember reading once how the Mafia cut off their victims faces so they could’nt be identified. My mind began to race as I looked around for clues and saw this.

It looked like gasoline or oil floating on the water and lapping itself into little rainbow puddles on the sand.

It extended up the beach, so I followed the trail cautiously hoping it were a clue to what led to the demise of my pumpkin friends.

It seemed like I had walked a long time when I spotted the source of this mystery.

OH NO, GOD, another one,

I was getting closer,

There it was, the source.

The source comes from over there somewhere.

I notified the authorities and they assured me everything was under control, and thanked me for helping. But they never gave me any answers about my dead pumpkin friends on the beach.

Did they die from swimming in this toxic sludge while on a quiet family post Halloween vacation, or is there something evil out there lurking, waiting in the shadows for a family of unsuspecting  pumpkins to come along.
