Pierre Elliot Trudeau and I

I normally would not comment on my own writing but I have been asked why I care so much about the U.S. presidential election.

I can sum it up quite simply by using a quote from a very great man.

Pierre Elliot Trudeau said “Living next to the U.S. is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even-tempered is the beast, one is affected by every twitch and grunt”

I feel Baracks supporters stance on many things mirror how Canadians feel, we all want our troops home from Afganistan, and NAFTA needs another going over. Hilary, Bill ( I sometimes get confused about which Clinton is running for the presidency Bill or Hilary) and Obama have a very similar platforms but albeit the Clintons have had their kick at the can, it’s time for a younger generation to have a go at it.

Like the line from movie Face Off. ” when all else fails, fresh tactics.”
